Grab your sporks, napkins and maybe antacids, the Top Slopper contest is back!
The annual celebration of Pueblo's signature burger featuring green chile gets underway Monday, leading up to Slopper Week at the end of April.
Smothered in green chile, the Slopper often also includes cheese, onions and even French fries when rounding out its flavor profile. Last year's winner, Cactus Flower, features Jack and cheddar cheeses and a toasted bun.
The contest from the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and Visit Pueblo pits Steel City restaurants against each other in a popular vote over who makes the best version. It also seeks to ensure that all top spots use certified Pueblo chile, according to the Chamber.
Cactus Flower has held the roving trophy for two years and will pass it along to this year's winner.

The top 10 Slopper spots will receive decals signifying they're officially part of the 2026 top 10 Slopper Stops.
Winners will be announced on Friday, April 17. The following week, Slopper Week, will highlight the winners and cap off with Slopper Trucks at the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.
